More about me...

Breed - I am a labradoodle. That is a mix between a Labrador Retriever and a Standard Poodle. I have long black hair and don’t shed too much. I get a haircut every once in a while but my humans like my long hair. It gets pretty hot in the summer though. I have to jump in the lake to cool off! Read more about labradoodles on the right.

Size/weight - Right now I am 55 pounds. That’s kind of a funny story because my friends at the shelter told my new human mom that I wouldn’t get too much bigger than 35 or 40 pounds. She was pretty surprised as I grew and grew! Good thing I am way too cute.

Grooming - Like I said earlier, I have long hair. My humans brush me every day. I love the feeling! If they didn’t, I’d get mats in my hair and that is not fun. Living out on the river, I sometimes get stickers stuck in my hair. They have to comb them out whenever we find them.

I also get to brush my teeth. This keeps my breath fresh. No one likes stinky breath! It also helps stay healthy. If you have healthy gums and teeth, you tend to be healthier. I have to really watch to make sure I brush because it is much more expensive for me to get my teeth cleaned than for my humans when they go to the dentist.

I also get to take a bath once a week. Sometimes it is more often depending on what kind of mess I have made or what I have been in to. I love playing in the sand and water and have even been in trouble for digging in the flower bed and getting a little muddy. This tends to get me a bath sooner than usual. I don’t mind them though. I just walk right in to the tub when the water starts running. I like to drink the bath water.

For Fun - I really like to play with my humans when they come home. My favorite is fetch. We play fetch with my rope bone, my Kong, and tennis balls. I also love to take walks and visit people.

Treats - I love any kind of treats. Sometimes my humans put peanut butter and cheese in my Kong. This keeps me busy for hours. I like milk bones, soft treats, and probably my favorite is when my humans are watching a movie and toss me a piece of popcorn. Boy do I LOVE that! That’s the only human food I get so it is quite a treat!
